Visit to Shelter in Tijuana

Dec 28, 2021

CBS 8 San Diego: We take another deep dive into topics concerning our community. This is an ongoing conversation around immigration and the U.S.-Mexico Border. Click here to see the full story.

On International Migrants Day, we visited our asylum-seeking family in Tijuana. The kids had prepared a lovely song and dance number for us that brought tears to our eyes. Then we all danced. I hope that watching the highlights brings you a little joy too. The Remain in Mexico policy that was just reinstated is cruel, putting vulnerable people in horrible situations full of danger. Often asylum seekers don’t want a better life. They just want to live. ❤️ Keep informed to help dispel myths about immigration and protect asylum seekers. Thank you Gente Unida, Musical Ambassadors of Peace, and all those who helped with donations/activism. Read more here. Our next shelter visit will be on January 6 for the “Day of Three Kings”. Please let us know if you’d like to attend!
